PMI Principal's Message

Dear Families,

What an honor it is to serve the children, staff, and families of Palmyra-Macedon Intermediate School!  I have worked as a teacher, an assistant principal, and principal locally and it has been wonderful to join the team at Pal-Mac to continue the long-standing focus on helping our students learn academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our school is a special place filled with children who are eager to learn, staff members who are committed to knowing the children and helping them grow each day, and families who are true partners in our work.

At PMI, helping all of our students feel a sense of belonging and connected to others is essential.  When children feel this, it positively impacts their learning in all areas.  This is fostered through daily morning meetings and a focus on knowing our students as individuals and learners.

To support the academic growth of our students, we provide intentional instruction to help our students develop new skills, understand new skills, and build confidence as learners.  In addition to teaching skills and strategies, we also focus on teaching concepts that students can apply to many different areas of their learning.  This approach helps students use what they learn to help them now and in the future.

At PMI, we embrace the following ideas to help us learn and grow each day.

We are kind.

We are safe.

We are problem solvers.

We are learners.

We belong.

We are an important part of PMI!

Our partnership with families and our community is very important to us.  We do this through regular communication as well as special events like our PMI Family Picnic.  If you ever have a question or a concern, please reach out so we can work together to support your child!
